Concerning the field of taxation a few people ask me "What is an Enrolled agent"?  An Enrolled agent is a person who has earned the privilege of practicing, that is, representing taxpayers, before the Internal Revenue Service. Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can practice before.

My background in the field of accounting extends over 40 years, which includes associations with Fortune 500 companies, and follows Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).   

GAAP is simply a common set of accounting principles, standards and procedures that companies use to compile their financial statements. GAAP are a combination of authoritative standards (set by policy boards) and simply the commonly accepted ways of recording and reporting accounting information.  

In the past decade, QuickBooks has become a leader in accounting software.  When partnered with an extensive accounting background it can become a powerful tool.  Soon after I became a Certified QuickBooks Advisor, I elected to exclusively maintain my client's financials using QuickBooks software.
